Music Marketing Blog Post #1

      In order for my group and I to start marketing for our band we had to do a lot of research due to none of us being familiar with the type of genre the band was. None of us knew who really would be the target audience or how they could connect with the public. After reading the lyrics to many of the band's songs and listening to many interviews, we saw the purpose and the reason why many people love this band. It was because all the real struggles that people may face in day-to-day were portrayed in a song. After we got what the true meaning of the band was, we started creating a storyboard for our music video.



In our music video, we wanted to show how someone who may be having a hard time in their life right now, tries so hard to get better and smile but sometimes it doesn't work out because they were left with no one. Once the storyboarding was complete we started filming the music video using the storyboard as a guide to really get all the shots we needed to portray our story and the meaning behind the song.

    After the video was in post-production, one of our group members started editing while the others worked on our presentation. I would say that the presentation was the hardest part due to us really wanting to do something different from all of the other rock bands. We really wanted to focus on mental health so we decided that many of our events and a percentage of our merchandise were going to an organization to be who is really struggling with mental health.
